CHICAGO, March 22 (Xinhua) -- As residents in U.S. northeastern coast got outside and started digging after a severe spring snowstorm, a developing weather system will affect parts of Midwest with accumulating snow this weekend.
According to the U.S. National Weather Service, parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Indiana are expected to be affected by the storm staring from Friday night.
A fast moving low pressure system will slide southeast out of the Midwest Friday night and across the region Saturday before exiting by Sunday morning.
Heavy snow is possible, said forecasts, with estimated accumulations of three to eight inches (about 7.5 to 20 cm) in the affected region.
