KIEV, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- This season's first snowfall hit the Ukrainian capital Kiev on Wednesday, causing 294 traffic accidents, Interior Ministry said in a statement on Facebook.
At least four people were injured in the accidents, said the Kiev-based information portal dpt.kiev.ua.
The index of traffic congestion in Kiev has reached 9 out of 10, according to local media.
Kiev city state administration said 287 vehicles and 61 cleaning teams are working in the city to remove the snow.
Despite the snowfall, the Boryspil International Airport and the International Airport Kiev are working in a regular mode.
Weather authorities have warned that the snowfall in Kiev will continue into Thursday.
