WASHINGTON, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Wildcard Peng Shuai from China and qualifier Lauren Davis of the United States will battle for the title at the Houston Challenger tennis tournament after both players scored semifinal wins on Saturday.
Peng, a former U.S. Open semifinalist, defeated U.S. player Jessica Pegula 6-4, 6-3 in the semifinals while Davis rallied from a set down to defeat former junior Wimbledon winner Sofya Zhuk from Russi 3-6, 6-3, 6-0.
Contesting her first tournament since Wimbledon, former world No.14 Peng was not really tested by the former junior world No.1 Pegula before wrapping up the victory in one hour and 27 minutes.
